PROCESS ENGINEER – PLASTICS MOLDING – $100,000 – SALARY

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Process Engineer will be responsible for cost, quality, and delivery improvements to support a manufacturing organization in the injection molding industry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop injection molding processes using proven scientific methodologies and validate molds and work cells through IQ, OQ, PQ validation process.
  • Document detailed information for each job that is validated, including molding process, mold set up, work cell layout, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in project meetings to ensure timely completion of validations into production.
  • Support current production needs for troubleshooting and process improvement.
  • Oversee new process equipment production and assist in raising engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Establish robust and repeatable process parameters and implement statistical process analysis on new and existing products.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, review processing methods, and ensure adherence to ISO and safety standards.
  • Leverage industry practices for internal systems and drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Maintain positive team member relations and plan layouts for line changes.
  • Communicate with interdepartmental managers regarding process or material changes.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify quality problems in products.
  • Present information effectively and respond to inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Analyze problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safe working habits.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • EDUCATION: Trade school graduate or associates degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in Plastics Engineering preferred.
  • Knowledge of Scientific Molding principles and medical device manufacturing experience.
  • Experience: 2+ years in an injection molding operation, preferably in a 24/7 manufacturing/molding environment.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, basic equipment knowledge, ability to read prints, use measuring equipment, and advanced math skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in performance development, teaching/leading, mentoring, and organization development
