Their capabilities span pharmacokinetics, lead compound screening, efficacy assessment, pharmacology, mechanism of action, and early lead optimization. Additionally, they provide supportive colony maintenance and backup colony support.

As a Research Associate, you will play a crucial role in cutting-edge research projects under the guidance of an experienced Program Manager. Your responsibilities will include executing animal procedures and husbandry with precision, as well as contributing to contract research studies following study protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Take on the role of primary technician for basic and complex studies
  • Handle the receipt, distribution, and husbandry of animals with care and accuracy
  • Prepare necessary forms, study books, and maintain accurate records
  • Calculate and verify doses, demonstrating proficiency in a range of technical skills such as administration and necropsy
  • Monitor anaesthesia and utilize aseptic techniques, including surgical setup when required
  • Collaborate with surgeons, providing assistance during basic surgical procedures as needed
  • Maintain diligent observation and promptly report any atypical findings to veterinary staff or senior colleagues
  • Conduct data quality control reviews in accordance with SOPs and study protocols
  • Potentially serve as a designated trainer, sharing your expertise with fellow team members

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Science (or equivalent), preferred
  • Experience in the CRO industry, managing high-volume, fast-paced client projects is a plus
  • Preferred certifications: ALAT, LAT, LATG
  • Over five years of related laboratory animal science experience, preferred

  • Prior experience in animal handling within a laboratory setting, prioritizing animal welfare

  • Committed to safety and security in the workplace
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
